September 5, 2018, Columbia, MD – impactHR, LLC, a full-service human resources management and consulting firm, today announced Kelly Mitchell, Founder and Principal with impactHR, has been named a “2018 Mid-Atlantic Women’s Leadership Award” winner by CEO Report.
CEO Report, whose mission is to connect and inform business communities in a number of major US cities, established its Women’s Leadership Awards program to honor women executives who are working to move their companies and communities forward. This year’s Mid-Atlantic winners will be honored at an awards gala on October 10, 2018, at the Down Town Club in Philadelphia.

For its annual award, CEO Report is honoring 50 women business leaders throughout the Mid-Atlantic region who are building successful businesses and devoting their time and energy to improving the well-being of their communities. Mitchell and her fellow honorees are being recognized as “trailblazers in business” while standing out for “being passionate about philanthropy and inspiring up and coming leaders,” according to James McDonald, CEO Report President and CEO.
Mitchell has long been involved in supporting and mentoring future women leaders. In addition to having served as an Adult Leader for her daughter’s Girl Scout troop, she has devoted significant time as a Board Member and general member of the Women’s Leadership Conference Committee. Mitchell also is part of the Women’s Presidents Organization in which she and other female leaders coach others on becoming successful entrepreneurs and community leaders.

Mitchell’s’ leadership in business and in her community has earned her numerous honors and awards, such as being recognized in 2017 as a “Top 100 MBE Winner” by the Capital Region Minority Supplier Development Council. In addition, The Alternative Board awarded her a “Most Valuable Member” honor in 2010 and “Most Accomplished Member” in 2011. Kelly also was awarded the distinguished Brava Award from SmartCEO in 2009, honoring the top female CEOs in the Baltimore-Washington, DC region.
In 2008, impactHR, under Mitchell’s leadership, won the Maryland Chamber of Commerce’s “Small Business of the Year” award. Through her business acumen and stewardship, she also has led impactHR’s membership with the Better Business Bureau of Greater Maryland with an A+ rating.
Mitchell is a HR professional with more than 25 years of experience, providing expertise and services to an array of organizations. Her certified skills and experience include assessment of the HR infrastructure and the establishment or enhancement of the HR function. Mitchell holds a BS in Psychology from Towson University and a MS in Human Resources Management from Widener University. In 2016, impactHR celebrated its tenth year in business, providing strategic HR solutions to companies and organizations in the Baltimore-Washington corridor and the mid-Atlantic region.
