CDC Announces Additional Symptoms to Be Aware of With COVID-19

The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) last week announced it has added six new symptoms to be aware of for those who may have been exposed to the coronavirus:

  • Chills
  • Muscle pain
  • Headache
  • Sore throat
  • Repeated shaking with chills
  • A loss of taste or smell

These new symptoms now accompany those previously on CDC’s list:

  • Fever
  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing

In addition, the CDC continues to state that symptoms “may appear 2-14 days after exposure to the virus.”

For employers and employees, note that a research team with The Johns Hopkins Carey Business School has developed an interactive map of drive-through COVID-19 testing sites covering the DC/Maryland/Virginia region and across the US.
